Constructed of bronze, on a teardrop suspension with an original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised swastika with ribbed arms, overlaid by double Sig runes within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a raised number 8, overlaid by an inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS), unmarked, measuring 37. 98 mm in
