Pépiement des ombres. Celtique The papyriPhilippe Jaccottet was born in Moudon, Switzerland, in 1925. In 1941, he met Gustave Roud, who introduced him to Novalis and Hlderlin. At the age of twenty, he traveled to Italy, met Ungaretti, and then to France, where he stayed in Paris from 1946 to 1952.
