La Gloire des martyrs. Divers towards human and technological progressWhile devoting a large part to Gaul, the work of Gregory of Tours ( 594) on The Glory of the Martyrs is part of an ecumenical dimension, whereas his other hagiographical books are confined, with very rare exceptions, to the much narrower limits of the Gallic space. Gregory set himself the task of collecting everything that could be learned, in his time, about the martyrs who were victims of persecution and the cult given to them in the various regions
