Germany, Heer. A Cholm Shield, Relic Condition consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac mounted to a Rupert cross(Heer Cholmschild). Constructed of silvered magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised Heer style German national eagle clutching an Iron Cross defaced by a central swastika, situated above an inscription of CHOLM 1942, affixed with one intact reverse attachment prong to a field grey wool backer, unmarked, measuring 39. 64 mm (w) x 64. 50 mm (h), in addition to the missing prongs the shield demonstrates oxidation through which
