In this book, anthropologist Tim Ingold proposes to deconstruct the hylomorphic philosophical model which, since Aristotle, has thought of the act of making as the imposition of a form, or a project, on inert matter. This theoretical reversal is only possible thanks to a materialist approach to making that reveals the correspondence of practices with materials, their itinerancy within matter to generate forms.
